Dr. Vimal completed his medical education (MBBS and MS Ophthalmology) from Medical College Baroda, Gujarat and went on to do a fellowship in Clinical Neuro-Ophthalmology from Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai.His expertise includes managing diseases of the optic nerve such as inflammation, demyelination, ischemia, toxicity, nutritional, hereditary, infiltrative, traumatic and compressive optic neuropathies. He also deals with problems involving double vision, nerve palsies, ocular myasthenia, blepharospasm and nystagmus.He manages complex cases involving hemopathies and retrochiasmal visual pathway disease as part of a multidisciplinary team including a radiologist, neuro-physician and neurosurgeon.Dr. Vimal has published extensively in the field and is active in clinical research, having participated in multi-centric studies. He also frequently participates in national and state conferences.
