Dr. Ramakrishnan began his career as the In charge of Aravind Eye Hospital, Theni in 1987 and then the Chief of Glaucoma clinic in 1988. After served several years as Chief Medical Officer & Professor of Ophthalmology at Aravind Eye Hospital, Tirunelveli, currently he is the Advisor of Tirunelveli Hospital.Dr. Ramakrishnan graduated in medicine, D.O, and M.S from Madurai Medical College. He had his basic glaucoma training under Dr. George Speath of Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia and Dr.Jacob T. Wilensky, Eye and Ear Infirmary, University of Illinois, Chicago in 1989.
