Dr. Nilay Patel completed medical school (MBBS) and post graduation (MS) in ophthalmology from Mumbai and went on to do a 2-year fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai.Dr. Patel has extensive experience in eye surgery and vision correction procedures (LASIK). He aims to give patients long-term care and support throughout the entire laser vision correction surgery process. He enjoys being able to discuss the treatment options with his patients and customizing the treatment plan to the needs and goals of each individual.His surgical expertise also includes all aspects of corneal transplant surgery, complex cataract surgery, anterior eye reconstruction and pterygium surgery.He is a specialist in the diagnosis and management of patients with Keratoconus and has a dedicated corneal and ocular surface clinic, where he deals with patients with complex corneal diseases.He also started the Dry Eye Clinic at Aashirwad Eye Hospital as he understands that symptoms of dry eye can seriously impact one’s quality of life.Always pursuing more knowledge, he has a keen interest in research and innovation and keeps up to date with the latest developments in ophthalmology that translates into more effective therapies for patients with serious eye conditions
