Dr. Shamik Prafull Mokadam completed his MBBS from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Sawangi (M), Wardha. He then went on to pursue his post graduate degree course in ophthalmology from the prestigious Aravind Eye Hospital in Tamil Nadu and was awarded the Diplomate of National Board in Ophthalmology in 2006. He also appeared for the Membership examination of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (London), held in Nottingham, England and was awarded the MRCOphth (London), in 2006.He then did a fellowship in Vitreo-retinal surgery at Aravind Eye Hospital, Coimbatore and joined as a consultant vitreo retinal surgeon at Anjani Eye Hospital, Nagpur in 2007. In 2015, he completed a one year fellowship in vitreo-retinal surgery at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Lions Eye Institute, Perth, Australia with Prof Ian Constable.He has presented papers in several international and national conferences and is an invited faculty in local and state ophthtalmology forums. Presently, he manages all patients with diabetic retinopathy, age related macular degeneration, retinal vasular occlusions, retinal detachments, epiretinal membranes, macular holes and other retinal conditions, (both surgically and medically).
